"The first Industrial revolution launched a new global textile industry. By the 1830’s, there were 370,000 cotton weavers working around the world. But with the rise of automation, where did those jobs go? In 2014 there were nearly 58 million people working in the textile and clothing industries. And the skills needed to fill these jobs are changing every day. So the question isn’t “Where did these jobs go?” It’s “Where are they going?” Video and copy shared by Mercer Insights, an organization that  prepares their workforces for the digital era.
